Job summary

Arup is seeking an experienced electrical engineer to plan, design, and deliver electrical systems for a range of facilities including airports, hospitals, laboratories, and high-rise offices. The role involves leading client communications, developing power, lighting, fire alarm, and signaling solutions, and preparing complete drawings and analyses for project success.

• Design electrical systems including power, lighting, fire alarm, and signaling
• Prepare single line diagrams and load analyses for designs
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams and architects
• Lead day-to-day financial management of electrical projects
• Contribute to responses to proposals and business development

Job description

• Plan, design, and contribute to electrical engineering projects for airports, hospitals, laboratories, high rise offices, museums, educational facilities, and other commercial and institutional projects;
• Lead face-to-face and other technical communication with clients on electrical topics;
• Design all electrical systems, including power, lighting, fire alarm and signaling systems for assigned projects;
• Design and perform calculations for lighting systems and associated controls;
• Prepare single line diagrams for power distribution;
• Perform load analysis for different stages of electrical design;
• Prepare drawings detailing the entire electrical design;
• Compose, edit, and integrate electrical elements into the multidisciplinary basis of design reports for projects;
• Lead day-to-day financial management of electrical projects;
• Select and specify appropriate equipment and luminaires for electrical projects;
• Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines and architects;
• Meet with clients to establish their needs and discuss electrical design issues;
• Review and monitor the quality of design and documentation tasks performed by others to deliver successful project designs;
• Lead the successful technical and financial delivery of electrical projects; and,
• Contribute to responses to requests for proposals.
• Requires Bachelor’s degree plus 7 years of experience.
• Salary range: $187,803.00 - $211,350.00/year
