Job summary

LaBella Associates is seeking a Senior Engineer to establish and evaluate equipment and construction standards for transmission, substation and distribution systems. The role requires effective leadership in a matrix organization and extensive project management experience across large projects.

You will coordinate with multiple teams, manage budgets and schedules, and oversee quality, safety and environmental processes.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Project Management, with at least 3 years on large projects.
• Bachelor’s degree is required and a Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification preferred.
• Experience in evaluating and developing T&D standards.

Responsibilities

• Initiate, plan, execute and close projects; define WBS, cost baseline and OBS; develop work plans and manage risks, scope, schedule and budget.
• Lead teams; facilitate commitment, remove obstacles and drive performance.
• Enforce quality and environmental processes across projects; monitor SPI and CPI metrics (<1.0).
• Oversee third‑party projects with transmission owners and interconnecting customers.
• Be accountable for cost budgeting, communications, change management, scheduling, and construction/commissioning oversight.

LaBella Associates is looking for a Senior Engineer to work with our client to establish and evaluate equipment and construction standards for their transmission, substation and distribution systems.

Effective leadership in a matrix organization.

• Initiation, Planning, Executing, and Closing Projects — defining the project WBS, Cost Baseline and OBS structure, initiating the project, building its comprehensive work plan, controlling and managing to the risks, scope, schedule and budget
• Managing Teams — facilitating commitment and productivity, removing obstacles, and managing teams
• Implementation and Management of Quality and Environmental Process and procedures on all projects focusing on meeting SPI and CPI performance indicators less than 1.0
• Management of third-party projects including other transmission owners and interconnecting customers
• Accountable and Responsible for:
• Cost /Budgeting and Management
• Communication Management
• Change Management
• Schedule Management
• Construction Management Oversight
• Commissioning Management Oversight

Requirements

• 10 years or more of experience in Project Management, 3 years in large projects.
• Bachelor’s degree is required. Professional Engineer License.

• Experience in the T & D standards evaluation and development.
