Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services seeks a PLM Engineer in Novi, MI, to support product lifecycle management and BOM activities for multiple vehicle programs. You will manage EBOMs, ECN/ECR processes, and ensure data integrity across CAD, PLM, and BOM data structures.

The role requires hands-on ENOVIA/3DEXPERIENCE experience, strong Excel data analysis skills, and effective cross-functional collaboration with engineering teams and external partners.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering with practical experience.
• Hands-on PLM/ECN processes and BOM management are required.
• Experience with ENOVIA and 3DEXPERIENCE PLM is essential.

Responsibilities

• Execute engineering release activities within ENOVIA PLM.
• Create, maintain, and manage Engineering BOMs for multiple vehicle programs.
• Administer component release and change control processes.
• Ensure CAD, PLM, and BOM data alignment.
• Coordinate with engineering teams for timely releases.
• Support change implementation, tracking, and release validation.
• Maintain product structures, revisions, and release records.
• Generate and distribute BOM release status reports.
• Support configuration management across the lifecycle.
• Monitor BOM accuracy and data integrity.
• Facilitate data exchange with external partners.
• Participate in release planning discussions.
• Identify and resolve PLM data quality issues.
• Provide regular project status updates.

Product Lifecycle Management Support

Must Have Technical/Functional Skills

• Hands-on expertise in Engineering BOM (EBOM) creation, maintenance, and release management
• Experience in Engineering Change Management (ECN/ECR/Change Actions) processes
• Knowledge of product lifecycle management and configuration management principles
• Understanding of CAD-PLM integration, preferably CATIA and ENOVIA
• Experience with product structure management, part creation, revisions, and release workflows
• Ability to analyze and validate BOM integrity across multiple vehicle configurations and variants
• Experience in engineering data import/export and data quality management
• Strong reporting and data analysis skills using Excel/Google Sheets including pivot tables and dashboards
• Knowledge of automotive product development and release processes is preferred
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional coordination skills
• Strong experience in Dassault ENOVIA / 3DEXPERIENCE PLM platforms

Roles & Responsibilities

• Support engineering change implementation, tracking, and release validation activities
• Maintain product structures, part attributes, revisions, and release records within ENOVIA
• Generate, analyze, and distribute BOM and release status reports to stakeholders
• Support configuration management activities throughout the product development lifecycle
• Monitor BOM accuracy, completeness, and documentation freshness to ensure engineering data integrity
• Facilitate data exchange between engineering teams and external partners/vendors
• Participate in technical discussions related to release planning, BOM structure, and change management
• Proactively identify and resolve PLM data quality and release issues
• Provide regular project status updates and support continuous improvement initiatives within PLM processes

Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical teams (design, softwa re) and non-technical teams (operations, technicians).

Education

BS in Mechanical Engineering (EE), Automotive Engineering (ME) or equivalent practical experience.
