Job description

Job Details: Job Location: Cincinnati, OH 45206, BUILDER WANTED. Senior Engineer

Not just a Senior Engineer. A Problem-Solver.

You turn complex designs into buildable solutions. From architectural drawings to detailed shop drawings, you understand how every dimension, material, and connection impacts the finished product. You know that great engineering isn't just about what looks right on paper. It's about what works in the shop and comes together in the field.

At Stanton Millworks, we're looking for a Senior Engineer who brings technical expertise, attention to detail, and a passion for craftsmanship. Someone who can take ownership of complex millwork projects, collaborate with our production team, and help develop the next generation of engineering talent.

A Legacy of Building Careers

Stanton Millworks is a premier cabinetmaking and architectural woodworking shop in the tri-state area, with more than 80 years of growth built on repeat and referral business.

We believe exceptional craftsmanship comes from working with people who share our values and passion for quality. We recognize that our employees are more than professionals—they’re individuals with families, hobbies, and full lives beyond work. That’s why we emphasize balance, supporting both professional growth and personal fulfillment.

Our culture is rooted in celebrating accomplishments together, fostering collaboration, and making a lasting impact on our clients and community. Full-time positions at Stanton Millworks include generous paid time off, competitive salaries, and a supportive environment where your voice is valued and your contributions matter.

What You'll Build
  • Develop accurate, detailed shop drawings and submittal packages for custom architectural millwork and casework using AutoCAD.

  • Review drawings for accuracy, quality, and alignment with project scope, contract documents, and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with estimating, project management, and production teams to identify constructability concerns, resolve technical challenges, and minimize rework.
  • Prepare and revise shop drawings and submittals in a timely manner to support project schedules and production needs.
  • Provide technical guidance to fabrication and assembly teams, troubleshooting challenges and ensuring designs translate effectively to the shop floor.
  • Support quality control efforts within the engineering department, reviewing work and sharing best practices.
  • Mentor and support fellow engineers, helping develop their technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and understanding of millwork construction.
Qualifications: What You Bring
  • 5+ years of experience in architectural millwork, cabinetry, woodworking, or a closely related custom fabrication environment.
  • 5+ years of CAD drafting experience, with strong proficiency in AutoCAD.

  • Ability to interpret architectural plans, specifications, dimensions, and technical details with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Experience developing detailed shop drawings for custom or complex projects.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple project priorities.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills, with a collaborative approach to working across departments.
  • Willingness and ability to mentor other engineers and take ownership of engineering quality.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position works in an office environment and on active construction sites with heavy machinery and advanced safety requirements. Employees must comply with company safety policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

This role is for someone who wants to take ownership of a critical part of Stanton’s operation. You’ll turn complex designs into buildable solutions, help keep production moving, support your fellow engineers, and give our teams the information they need to deliver successful projects.
