Job summary

Warren CAT in Texas seeks an Engine Shop Technician III to deliver high-quality repair services on gas and diesel engines, meeting safety standards and customer expectations. The role emphasizes diagnosing, repairing, rebuilding engines, performing Dyno tests, and providing accurate quotes.

You will mentor junior technicians, apply CAT product knowledge, and ensure timely service reports while following strict safety and contamination controls.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 1–3 years related experience or training
• Ability to read and interpret safety and maintenance documents
• Ability to apply common sense and solve problems in standardized situations
• Knowledge of database/software and order processing systems
• Will be certified before forklift/man lift operation
• Mastery of CAT product knowledge and diesel engine systems

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned jobs to meet flat rate times and re-do metrics
• Operate Dyno on gas and diesel engines
• Follow safety policies and contamination controls
• Remove/install parts and inspect assemblies
• Diagnose and troubleshoot engine problems and provide repair recommendations
• Provide accurate quotes and timely service reports
• Mentor Engine Tech I and II as needed
• Perform engine and component rebuilds without supervision
• Coordinate shop assignments as team leader when assigned
• Attend to all related paperwork and timecards daily
