Job summary

YANMAR America Corporation seeks a Sr. Application Engineer to help customers integrate YANMAR’s engine and hybrid technologies into equipment.

You will perform engineering evaluations to ensure compliance with standards and collaborate with Sales and Service to gather data and make recommendations. The role requires hands-on engineering, cross-team collaboration, and travel up to 30% domestically and internationally to support distributors and OEMs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related technical degree.
• 4+ years of Engine/Hybrid Applications Engineering experience.
• Proficiency in FEA and vibrational analysis (SolidWorks/NI DIAdem preferred).
• Ability to manage multiple projects at various stages of completion.
• Strong communication and collaboration with customers and teams.

Responsibilities

• Create engine and hybrid specifications for OEM and distributor customers.
• Perform diesel engine installation reviews, including data acquisition, calculations, and engineering analysis for new installations.
• Complete engineering tasks in a timely manner while considering lead times and customer schedules.
• Assist in the design and testing of existing and current products.
• Work with customer engineering and design teams to integrate YANMAR engines into their applications.
• Maintain internal project databases for active applications and manage the installation review workflow.
• Respond to engineering questions from Sales regarding new and existing applications.
• Ensure compliance with existing and future global regulations for customer applications.
• Identify components with suppliers that meet YANMAR standards, lead times, and cost targets.
