Job summary

Upbound is seeking a Senior Manager to lead the Management Plane, unifying Hub, Console, Marketplace and Middleware into one coherent product.

You will grow the team, define long‑term architecture, and drive delivery excellence across surfaces while partnering with Product, Design, GTM, Finance, and Customer Success to scale a multi-tenant SaaS platform.

Success will require balancing roadmap commitments with reliability, security, and packaging strategy in a fast-growing infrastructure company.

Qualifications

7+ years engineering experience, including 3+ years managing engineers.
Experience building and operating multi-tenant SaaS products at scale.
Strong API design fundamentals, including versioning and backward compatibility.
Hands-on experience with commerce or platform middleware: billing, metering, licensing, entitlements, or IAM.
Track record of owning production reliability for customer-facing services and on-call culture.
Has built or restructured a team, not only inherited one.
Technically credible with senior and principal engineers while operating at the roadmap level.

Responsibilities

Own long-term technical direction for Hub, Console, Marketplace, and middleware and present a coherent experience across Upbound surfaces.
Lead middleware and commerce systems for metering, billing, licensing, entitlements, and enforcement.
Evolve Hub API for autonomous agents and human operators; guide Console toward multi-modal experiences.
Lead senior ICs and tech leads; grow the team and ensure delivery predictability and production excellence across surfaces.
Partner with Product, Design, GTM, Finance, and Customer Success to align security, multi-tenancy, and packaging with platform capabilities.
