Markel is seeking an Energy Casualty Underwriter to underwrite energy risks and manage profitable renewal portfolios. You will evaluate new business, interact with management and producers, and mentor junior underwriters.

The role requires strong communication, analytical skills, and a willingness to travel up to 25%. US work authorization is required, and Markel offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Competenze

• 3+ years of Energy Casualty underwriting experience.
• Demonstrated technical knowledge and progression through roles of increasing responsibility.
• Strong marketing and relationship-building skills.
• Four year college degree and/or CPCU or similar designation preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• MS Word and MS Excel proficiency.
• Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Mansioni

• Review, analyze, accept, and decline Energy Casualty risks for profitability.
• Underwrite and select new business that yields underwriting profit.
• Manage renewal book and implement corrective actions for profitability.
• Communicate with UW Manager and product line leaders on accounts and producers.
• Participate in audits and underwriting meetings as required.
• Build and maintain relationships with key producers while monitoring profitability.
• Review competitor pricing and market the Markel product effectively.
• Provide training or technical assistance to underwriting staff.
