Job summary

NextEra Energy Transmission (NEET) is seeking an experienced commercial attorney to support its development and management teams in the electric transmission space, drafting and negotiating a broad range of complex agreements such as development services, joint development, joint venture and LLC agreements, transmission capacity leases, and purchase/sale transactions.

The attorney will work with cross-functional teams, manage high‑priority matters, identify and mitigate risk, ensure budget

Qualifications

• 4–8 years of commercial transactional experience related to transmission projects.
• Experience with large energy infrastructure development, sale/leaseback structures, and JV/strategic partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements in the electric transmission space.
• Deliver timely and quality written and oral legal advice to clients with minimal supervision.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to advance strategic initiatives.
• Identify, mitigate and guard against legal and commercial risk.
• Manage multiple high-priority matters in a fast-paced environment.
