Job description

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI‑powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting‑edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

What You’ll Do
  • Design, develop, and mature high‑density energy storage systems through internal engineering projects, contributing directly to hardware and software solutions.
  • Execute against sections of the energy technology roadmap, advancing current energy systems through capability development, validation, and optimization efforts.
  • Perform and support critical certification efforts for energy systems, including tasks related to UN38.3 and NAVSEA 9310.
  • Collaborate effectively with multi‑disciplinary internal teams and external vendors to integrate energy systems into Anduril Maritime products using agile development and CI/CD principles.
  • Contribute to the identification of energy demands, develop detailed technical specifications, and ensure our energy systems meet product requirements for endurance and safety.
  • Conduct rigorous testing, analysis, and validation of energy systems, documenting findings to support shipping and use certifications.
  • Clearly communicate technical development status, findings, and issues to internal stakeholders, lead engineers, and potentially external partners.
  • Actively evaluate new energy technologies and industry trends, researching and proposing innovative solutions to enhance our product capabilities.
  • Provide detailed technical inputs for proposals, including engineering execution plans, and contribute to customer deliverables and requests for information.
  • Perform mission and system‑level trade studies and detailed analysis to inform design decisions, balancing risk, cost, and performance objectives.
  • Actively participate in Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activities for energy and power systems, ensuring lessons learned are integrated into design improvements and future requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science or higher degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Systems Engineering.
  • At least 6+ years of hands‑on experience working on power system design and development.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing, developing, testing, and supporting the delivery of cutting‑edge, high‑density energy storage systems for complex and harsh environments.
  • Experience contributing to the development and execution of battery safety plans.
  • Strong technical fundamentals in energy storage systems, electronics design, and/or product development.
  • Experience designing high‑reliability, mission‑critical power systems.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. security clearance as a U.S. Citizen.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven ability to translate complex system requirements into executable technical tasks and successfully deliver against those demands.
  • Strong ability to execute technical development efforts, self‑assess against key performance parameters, and work effectively across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Excellent technical communication skills, with the ability to articulate critical technical findings and conclusions to various audiences.
  • Experience supporting battery certification efforts, including UN38.3 certification as well as NAVSEA 9310.
  • Experience with subsea electro‑mechanical design.
  • Experience contributing to product development in electro‑mechanical systems, ideally energy systems.
