As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting‑edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

ABOUT THE TEAM

Anduril is fielding the next generation of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) to tackle the extremely challenging industry demands of seabed exploration. Anduril has brought to the market a unique, ultra‑long‑range, full‑ocean‑depth platform, and a completely refreshed maritime vehicle and flexible manufacturing architecture that scales from “large” to “extra‑large” vehicle sizes. Today, Anduril is executing on multi‑million‑dollar contracts while simultaneously performing Robot‑as‑a‑Service (RaaS) AUV operations. As our Maritime team continues to quickly grow, we are looking for motivated candidates that are inspired to work within an extremely energetic, creative, and innovative team that is passionate about subsea robotics and exploring the open ocean. We work in a highly dynamic environment where collaboration and idea sharing are a way of life.

ABOUT THE JOB

We are looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, focused on battery systems, to join our rapidly growing team in Quincy, MA. You will own Design for Manufacturability (DFM) of battery packs and energy‑storage assemblies, process creation & optimization for high‑voltage assembly, vendor sourcing & interaction for cells and power components, interface with contract manufacturers and designers and support quality and safety planning. You'll partner closely with electrical design engineers and mechanical design engineers to move different battery systems from prototype to scaled, repeatable production.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Lead the development and implementation of new manufacturing processes and equipment for battery packs, cell assemblies, and high‑voltage power systems
  • Design and optimize production processes for efficiency, scalability, quality, and safety, including cell handling, module assembly, welding/bonding, and pack integration
  • Provide DFM/A feedback to electrical and mechanical design teams, driving manufacturability into cell selection, pack architecture, thermal management, and pressure vessel integration
  • Create and review process maps and work instructions for battery assembly and test
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, improve quality, and increase productivity
  • Utilize Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to enhance manufacturing operations
  • Oversee the execution of manufacturing projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
  • Coordinate with cross‑functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, software, quality, and supply chain, to ensure smooth production ramp‑up for new products
  • Mentor and support junior engineers and manufacturing staff
  • Stay abreast of technological advancements and industry trends in energy storage and battery manufacturing to drive innovation within our processes
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Degree in a technical field such as engineering, math, or a hard science
  • 5+ years of experience in a relevant field, preferably manufacturing or design of battery, energy‑storage, or electromechanical hardware
  • Demonstrated experience bringing battery packs or energy‑storage systems from design into production, or an equivalent electromechanical hardware background
  • Demonstrated ability to creatively deliver hardware in a fast‑paced environment
  • Demonstrated technical leadership skills with expertise in manufacturing
  • Personal experience physically manufacturing hardware via any means (cell/module assembly, welding, machining, fabrication, soldering, assembly, etc.). Work on personal or extracurricular projects is a plus.
  • A strong passion for manufacturing and a thirst for continuous improvement
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Battery pack or cell design experience, including cell selection, module/pack architecture, BMS integration, thermal management, or safety qualification
  • Experience with high‑voltage systems and safe work practices for electrical systems up to 400 VDC
  • Familiarity with cell‑joining processes (laser/ultrasonic/resistance welding, wire bonding) and battery test/formation equipment
  • Experience in maritime robotics (AUVs, UUVs, USVs, subsea sensors)
  • Subsea cable splicing or fabrication experience
  • Experience with pressure vessels and/or industrial pressure test equipment
