Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Senior Preconstruction Project Manager – Energy Storage to lead the Preconstruction Group’s efforts from notice of award to mobilization. This fully remote role involves daily management, coordination, and budget/schedule success for energy storage projects, with responsibilities spanning cost control, bid packages, procurement, and risk mitigation.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in construction, strong leadership in remote teams, and expertise in plans/specifications,

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of Energy Storage Construction Experience.
Engineering, Construction Management or Architectural degree, or equivalent experience
Thorough understanding of plans and specifications
Field experience (5-8 years, Project Engineer or Assistant Superintendent)
Leadership ability – able to pull together team members from diverse backgrounds in a remote environment and organize them into a cohesive, high‑performing project team
Effective written and verbal communications skills and organizational skills
Strong computer skills with MS Office suite, as well as other industry‑standard tools, such as Bluebeam Revu
Fundamental knowledge of contract law and project accounting
Organizational and communication skills; must have strong people skills
Detail‑oriented, motivated self‑starter
Able to travel (estimated 25%)
5+ years construction experience
2+ years scheduling and estimating experience

Responsibilities

Lead Preconstruction Project Manager responsibilities for energy storage projects
Maintain cost control ledger and job cost statements
Prepare billings and expedite payments
Set up and maintain CMiC system
Prepare bid packages and solicit/evaluate bids
Write project procedures
Review plans for completeness and accuracy
Supervise Preconstruction Project Engineers and clerical staff
Ensure procurement aligns with LNTP scope, budget and schedules
Collaborate with BD, engineering, accounting, construction, and legal on scopes of work
Coordinate with Engineering and Procurement on long lead items and LNTP releases
Define and create LNTPs
Research project design requirements
Liaise with Engineering Manager on schedule/budget changes
Represent SOLV Energy in owner meetings
Support estimating reconciliation for design iterations
Maintain timely reporting on cost forecasting and estimate at completion
Manage project risk with mitigation plans
Maintain relationships with Owner, Engineers, Vendors, Subcontractors
