Job summary

Arizona Public Service (APS) seeks a skilled financial analyst to support Transmission Settlements. Under minimal supervision, you will complete invoicing, reconciliation and energy accounting activities related to marketing and trading of energy and transmission services, validating loads and metered data.

You will analyze contracts, ensure data integrity, prepare reports for management, and collaborate with internal teams and market operators to ensure accurate settlements and regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering or Computer Science.
• Five years in accounting reconciliation, energy commodity billing, or related fields; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Advanced degree may substitute two of the five years of professional experience.
• Experience in energy accounting processes, commodity billing, data analysis, energy markets, financial reporting, related auditing techniques, or GAAP.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Responsibilities

• Analyze billing, energy, natural gas, transmission, coal, pricing and emissions data.
• Identify and correct discrepancies; investigate root causes and ensure data accuracy.
• Perform invoicing from creation to GL posting and collection.
• Gather, analyze, and reconcile commodity data to identify errors and trends.
• Ensure billing accuracy and compliance with policies and industry practices.
• Monitor pricing indexes and update forward curves for valuations.
• Coordinate across departments to ensure hedge policy compliance.
• Prepare and present financial reports to management and stakeholders.
• Support audits with accurate settlement, invoicing, and payment data.
• Communicate with utility companies, market clients, and operators on settlements.
