Aon is seeking an experienced Energy Risk Engineer to support our Global Natural Resources practice. This full-time role offers remote or flexible work with significant travel (roughly 80 days/year) to assess refining, petrochemical, LNG, and specialty chemical facilities and to translate engineering findings into insurance-ready risk reports.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering experience in petrochemical, refining, midstream, LNG, ammonia/fertilizer, polymers, or specialty chemicals.
• Background in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, or Process Safety/PSM.
• Strong understanding of PSM, RMP, mechanical integrity, and reliability methodologies (RBI, RCM, LOPA/SIL).
• Ability to produce structured, client-ready technical reports.

Responsibilities

• Conduct property risk engineering surveys at energy facilities such as refining and petrochemical sites.
• Translate complex plant operations into insurance-ready reports and analyses.
• Support underwriting submissions and client engagements with risk insights.
• Travel domestically and internationally (circa 80 days/year).
• Collaborate with brokers, underwriters, and clients to improve risk positioning.
