Job summary

Hut 8 Corp. is seeking a senior energy and infrastructure legal professional to draft, diligence, and oversee power agreements essential to the company’s energy strategy in the U.S. market.

You will negotiate PPA, interconnection, and utility contracts across on-site and behind-the-meter generation while aligning regulatory timelines with project schedules. You will manage regulatory compliance, advise on tariffs, and coordinate with finance on energy trading and lender covenants.

Qualifications

• Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. state in good standing.
• Experience negotiating power purchase, interconnection, retail energy supply, and utility infra agreements.
• Familiar with FERC/state public utility regs; experience with NERC and energy trading docs is desirable.
• Experience supporting project finance diligence and covenant negotiation.
• Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
• Strategic thinker with a practical, business-oriented legal approach.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Drive negotiations for interconnection, shared facilities, transmission, and distribution agreements.
• Structure power supply, energy service, retail energy, and ancillary service agreements.
• Support on-site and behind-the-meter generation negotiations.
• Represent company in tariff proceedings and related regulatory dockets.
• Provide legal analysis of tariffs and regulatory compliance for generation assets.
• Negotiate energy trading documents and related credit support with finance.
• Support demand response and ancillary services program structures.
• Advise on renewable energy procurement, RECs, and green tariffs.
• Own power-related portions of project financing deliverables and lender covenants.
• Direct energy-focused outside law firms and manage budgets.
