Job summary

Capstone, a Washington, DC‑based policy analysis and regulatory advisory firm, seeks a Vice President – Energy Policy to advise corporate clients and stakeholders on evolving energy policy. The role requires deep sector knowledge and leadership in delivering strategic insights, with a focus on business implications of policy developments.

Qualifications

• At least 6–8 years of experience in energy policy analysis, consulting, government affairs, regulatory affairs, corporate strategy, investment banking, or a related field.
• Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Must be eligible to work in the US without employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Analyze the risks and opportunities presented to corporations by public policy, including regulation, legislation, government enforcement actions, and litigation
• Develop sector expertise across energy industries, including clean energy, oil & gas, infrastructure & industrials, metals & mining, power & utilities, and clean fuels & transportation
• Produce high-quality written analysis, presentations, and strategic briefings for corporate clients and executive stakeholders
• Monitor and communicate policy developments that may impact business operations, growth strategy, investments, and competitive positioning
• Advise corporate clients on regulatory trends, stakeholder engagement, operational impacts, and market implications of policy developments; respond to client questions in a timely manner
• Lead and participate in client meetings, conference calls, industry events, and business development initiatives
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to support client deliverables and strategic initiatives
