Job summary

NAHB is seeking a Sr. Program Manager to lead energy codes and standards initiatives across ICC, ASHRAE, and other venues.

The role focuses on zero net energy and emissions reductions for residential construction, spanning single- and multi-family buildings. You will operate at the intersection of advanced building technologies, renewable energy, policy, and advocacy, collaborating with industry stakeholders and committees nationwide.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, material science, or architecture or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience related to building design and/or construction.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate NAHB’s position clearly.
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with stakeholders, committees, and staff.
  • Ability to review and understand technical/regulatory information related to building codes and standards.
  • Experience with building codes and standards development, code enforcement, above-code programs, and/or construction costs preferred.
  • Technical proficiency in energy efficient building technologies and/or renewable energy preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement NAHB’s strategy for energy codes and standards across ICC, ASHRAE, and other forums.
  • Focus on zero net energy and emission reductions.
  • Develop tools and information to support NAHB code advocacy efforts.
  • Assist NAHB members, committees, and staff with technical issues related to construction methods and practices.
  • Support adoption and implementation of energy codes and energy policies in jurisdictions around the country.
  • Prepare and/or present articles, status updates, webinars, and other related materials.
