Job summary

MISO is seeking a Senior Forecast Modeling Analyst in Carmel, IN to provide forecast and risk assessments for weather, load, wind and solar generation essential to control room operations and situational awareness.

The role involves interpreting data to assess impacts on load and renewables, identifying risks, and presenting mitigation plans to management and forecast customers. Experience in energy operations and advanced forecasting methodologies is required.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of experience evaluating and interpreting data to formulate short and medium-range load forecasts for the bulk electric system.
• Ability to identify risk and quantify uncertainty as it relates to load forecasting and renewable generation resources.
• Bachelor’s in engineering, computer science, information systems, economics, mathematics, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide forecast and risk assessments of weather, load, wind and solar generation to support control room operations.
• Interpret data to determine impact to load, wind, solar, outages and other factors.
• Analyze risks or uncertainties and present mitigation plans to management and forecast customers.
• Develop and improve forecasting methodologies related to large and non-conforming loads.
