Job summary

Vistra is seeking a Financial Analyst in Corporate Development and Finance to support modeling for the Vistra development pipeline, assess investment opportunities, and bolster internal reporting and management presentations.

The role oversees the development of financial models for renewable and fossil assets, collaborates with internal teams, and provides exposure to Vistra's business segments including TXU Energy, Luminant, and Dynegy within the power industry.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of experience in corporate finance, investment banking, FP&A, or related fields.
• Strong financial modeling skills in Excel; proficient in PowerPoint.
• Strong understanding of power markets and energy types (thermal/renewable).
• Knowledge of energy industry, renewables and energy storage development.
• Strong writing, presentation, and data visualization skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating and refreshing financial models for the Vistra development pipeline, interfacing with groups across the organization.
• Develop key financial model inputs including capital spend, project timeline, gross margin build‑up, operations and maintenance expense, tax assumptions, and capital structure.
• Execute pricing and returns analysis related to marketing efforts for the Vistra pipeline.
• Execute scenario analyses around offtake opportunities, capital structure sensitivities, acquisition opportunities, and optimizing site design.
• Create and maintain internal/external reporting materials to track actual and expected performance metrics associated with the Vistra development pipeline.
• Support strategic initiatives such as new market entry assessment or regulatory initiatives.
• Assist in preparing materials/presentations to present Vistra Zero investment opportunities to leadership.
