Job summary

iRocket seeks a senior Energetics Formulation Chemist or Engineer to lead the formulation, scale-up, and manufacturing transition of energetic materials for solid rocket motors. The role requires translating customer requirements into repeatable production capabilities and safe operation.

Travel to Long Island, Texas and Indiana is required for extended periods; candidate will mentor technical staff and collaborate with design, test and operations teams to ensure energetic-material

Qualifications

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a closely related field.
• 5+ years in energetic materials or solid rocket propellants; 10+ years preferred.
• Hands-on experience in propellant formulation and manufacturing scale-up.
• Ability to lead cross-disciplinary teams and support safety and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead formulation and development of solid rocket motor propellants and related energetic material systems.
• Plan and execute formulation experiments and analyze test data.
• Develop processes from lab to repeatable manufacturing with emphasis on safety and throughput.
• Define requirements for energetic-material manufacturing facilities and equipment.
• Develop manufacturing instructions, specifications, and acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, test, and quality teams to integrate energetic-materials into motor performance.
• Support hazard analyses and regulatory and explosives-safety requirements.
• Mentor staff as subject-matter expert in energetics.
