Job summary

Appian is seeking a Senior Business Technology Engineer to lead and architect enterprise platforms at our McLean corporate HQ. You will guide cross-functional teams to secure, configure, and scale mission-critical endpoints while automating provisioning and deployments.

You will work on patching, vulnerability management, and zero-touch onboarding, shaping resilient IT operations in a face-to-face, fast-paced environment. Strong enterprise experience and collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree: BS/BA in CS, MIS, IT or related field.
• 4+ years in desktop engineering or similar IT roles.
• Experience configuring Windows 10/11 and macOS in enterprise.
• Experience with enterprise device management systems (Intune, Jamf Pro, Addigy, NinjaOne).
• PowerShell (Windows) and Bash/zsh (macOS) for admin automation.
• Experience with endpoint encryption, antivirus deployment, and identity management basics.

Responsibilities

• Secure IT environments compliant with CMMC and NIST 800-171.
• Enforce patch management SLAs for OS and apps across environments.
• Monitor and remediate security vulnerabilities with security teams.
• Maintain automated onboarding/offboarding via Windows Autopilot and Apple Business Manager.
• Write/maintain scripts for software distribution and configuration tasks.
• Identify manual IT processes and build automated workflows to speed end-user resolution.
• Serve as escalation point for complex IT issues.
• Maintain technical docs and SOPs for IT team.
• Collaborate with security and network teams to ensure endpoint compatibility.
