Job summary

Guardian seeks an Employment Law Counsel to serve as the number two Employment and Labor Counsel, reporting to the Head of Employment Law. You will provide practical, business-focused advice on a broad range of employment matters affecting Guardian’s employees and field force.

Qualifications

• JD with active bar admission.
• Minimum five (5) years of employment-law experience in large firm or in-house.
• Experience handling administrative matters and single-plaintiff litigation/arbitration.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and analytical ability.
• Proven negotiation skills with experience structuring settlements and separation agreements.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise-wide employment-law strategy with HR and business leaders.
• Oversee investigations and matters before EEOC, DOL, and state agencies.
• Advise on restructurings, WARN acts, and workforce reductions.
• Counsel on AI/workforce transformation and related risk management.
• Manage employment and labor litigation and direct outside counsel.
