Position: Senior Employee Relations Specialist

Location: Division of Employment and Rehabilitation Services (DERS), 1789 West Jefferson Street, Phoenix, Arizona 85007

Salary: $56,650 - $59,000 annually

Grade: 22

Job Summary

DES is seeking an experienced individual to join as a Senior Employee Relations Specialist. This role involves managing employee relations actions, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, conducting research and investigations, and providing guidance and coaching to staff. The position may offer remote work options within Arizona based on departmental needs and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert analysis, guidance, and training on HR topics.
  • Conduct detailed data analysis and develop recommendations.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews and support team members through coaching and training.
  • Establish operational standards for responding to employee and manager inquiries.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of HR systems (HRIS, AZ360), Microsoft Office, and personnel procedures.
  • Strong investigative, research, and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and analyze documentation accurately.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, with two years of relevant experience or five years of equivalent experience.
  • PHR/SPHR certification is highly desirable.
Pre-Employment Requirements
  • Valid driver’s license, background checks, and E-Verify compliance.
