What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Serve as an employee relations subject matter expert, managing matters of moderate complexity
- Provide guidance and recommendations on disciplinary actions, performance issues, and county policies
- Conduct investigations related to Title VII issues, documenting findings and making recommendations
- Track and interpret trends in employee relations actions, proactively identifying and recommending solutions
- Manage unemployment insurance claims and represent the County in unemployment hearings
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field
- Four years of experience in human resources administration
- Must reside within close proximity to Raleigh (within 3 hours)
- Strong consulting skills with the ability to navigate difficult issues
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build professional relationships
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Four or more years of professional experience in an employee relations role
- Relevant certifications such as PHR or SPHR
- Experience in employee relations within local or state government
- Experience in employee relations within a large organization
- A desire to create and foster organizational change
