Job summary

Systems Engineering Services in the Denver area seeks an Employee Relations Consultant to act as a trusted advisor on workplace relations, investigations, and policy interpretation. The role partners with HR, Legal, and leadership to identify risk and promote fair employment practices.

The ERC conducts investigations, advises on performance and disciplinary actions, and documents findings with high professionalism and confidentiality. Strong collaboration and legal awareness are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, business administration, organizational leadership or related field.
• Minimum of five years of progressively responsible HR experience with significant employee relations handling.
• Experience conducting workplace investigations and advising on performance, conduct and termination matters.
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and ability to apply it.
• Strong consultation, influencing and communication skills with leaders at various levels.
• Proven analytical and risk-assessment capabilities with clear recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and meticulous documentation.
• Ability to manage multiple complex, time-sensitive matters with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Consults with leaders on complex employee relations matters, balancing experience, business needs, and risk.
• Conducts timely, thorough investigations into misconduct, harassment, discrimination, and policy violations.
• Advises leaders on performance management, corrective action, and terminations.
• Provides coaching and conflict resolution to improve working relationships.
• Gathers information, assesses risk, and delivers clear recommendations to management.
• Partners with Legal and HR to respond to employment claims and agency charges.
• Interprets and applies company policies and employment laws and regulations.
• Maintains confidential documentation of investigations and actions.
