Job summary

NASA's Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia seeks an Emergency Manager to lead all-hazards preparedness, training, and exercises for all personnel. You will develop and maintain the CEMP and COOP and oversee daily operation of the EOC and staff.

You will establish liaison with agency partners, tenants, and government bodies, ensuring emergency policies and drills align with NASA standards. You will plan and evaluate drills per HSEEP and maintain ENS readiness.

Qualifications

• Specialized experience in disaster/emergency management.
• To qualify for GS-13, one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to GS-12.
• To qualify for GS-14, one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to GS-13.
• Resume must clearly describe how you meet the required specialized experience.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains a Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP).
• Develops, coordinates and maintains a Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP).
• Establishes and maintains liaison with Agency and other Center emergency managers and partners.
• Ensures that the emergency program aligns with NASA standards, requirements and policies.
• Plans, coordinates and implements drills and exercises per HSEEP guidelines.
• Manages ENS databases and ensures personnel are trained to operate the ENS.
• Assumes responsibility for daily operation of the EOC, including appointment, training and certification of EOC staff.
