Job summary

Meta is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer in Denver to design, develop, and optimize firmware for AR/VR and wearable devices. You will work on low-level systems, device drivers, and connectivity stacks while collaborating with hardware, software, and research teams.

This role emphasizes solving complex performance and power challenges, bringing up new hardware, and delivering high-bandwidth wireless features across Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, and cellular pathways.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of software development experience; PhD with 4+ years acceptable.
• 3+ years embedded software development experience in industry settings.
• Experience with large-scale C/C++ code bases.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement firmware across all system layers, from kernel to application.
• Develop drivers and services for constrained environments with high data throughput.
• Lead hardware bring-up, peripheral drivers and silicon integration.
• Debug system-level issues spanning multiple layers from kernel to application.
• Profile performance and optimize across the software stack.
• Integrate components from partner teams into a unified product code base.
• Analyze, design, develop, and debug firmware for devices including sensing/imaging and haptic systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance connectivity features (Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, Cellular, etc.).
• Enhance complex systems with wireless interfaces and support QA/manufacturing.
