Job summary

LHH is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Embedded UI to join a highly innovative team developing next-generation robotic and digital technologies in Sunnyvale, CA. You will work with experts across software, robotics, imaging, design, and human factors to create intuitive experiences for robotic platforms.

You will lead the lifecycle from prototyping and architecture through production deployment, mentoring engineers and driving projects with a strong focus on quality and maintainability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, or a Master's with 6+ years, or a PhD with 3+ years.
• Proven track record of delivering production-quality UI software.
• Strong expertise in C++11/14/17+ and OO design principles.
• Excellent communication skills enabling collaboration across teams.
• Experience serving as a technical lead and driving projects from concept to deployment.
• Experience across full product lifecycle: design, implementation, debugging, verification, maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-performance embedded UIs using Qt/QML and C++ in resource-constrained environments.
• Create intuitive digital experiences for advanced robotic systems.
• Collaborate with software engineers, designers, clinical teams, human factors, and regulatory stakeholders.
• Define architecture, break down requirements, and deliver scalable software solutions.
• Lead projects from concept through implementation ensuring quality, reliability, and maintainability.
• Own the software development lifecycle from requirements to release activities.
• Mentor team members and provide technical leadership across projects.
