Job summary

Woolpert seeks an Embedded Systems & Sensor Software Engineer to lead software architecture for airborne LiDAR and remote sensing platforms. You will bridge hardware, avionics, data acquisition, and end-user applications while driving reliability and maintainability across the system.

The role requires leadership in software standards, mentoring engineers, and collaborating on roadmaps and customer demonstrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline such as Computer/Electrical/Software/Aerospace Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Minimum 3 years in embedded systems or hardware-integrated software.
• Proven track record leading software development for complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead embedded software architectures for airborne LiDAR and imaging systems.
• Integrate software with laser subsystems, GNSS/INS, cameras, and aircraft interfaces.
• Develop intuitive operator and maintenance interfaces for mission execution and calibration.
• Create health monitoring, predictive maintenance, and automated diagnostic capabilities.
• Support software validation through environmental, HIL, and flight testing; drive reliability improvements.
