Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking an Embedded Systems Engineer in Mountain View to join a team aligning boards, sensors, and software for aircraft and ground stations. You will work at the hardware–software boundary, define interfaces, bring up new boards, and validate the system through bench, hardware-in-the-loop, and flight testing.

The role requires hands-on firmware development in C/C++, Python automation, and strong debugging skills with CAN/SPI/I2C/UART.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical, Computer, or Systems Engineering or a related field
• 3+ years in embedded systems, hardware/software integration, or test
• Proficiency in C/C++ for firmware, and Python for automation
• Experience with CAN, SPI, I2C, UART and debugging them
• Ability to read board-level schematics and debug at signal level
• Experience writing requirements, test plans, and acceptance criteria
• Ability to support flight test needs

Responsibilities

• Integrate boards, sensors, actuators, and communications into aircraft subsystems
• Define and document subsystem interfaces and messages across CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, BLE
• Bring up new boards and write firmware and test code
• Plan and run subsystem verification from bench to flight test
• Contribute to component and sensor selection and design reviews
• Triage integration issues across hardware, firmware, and comms
