Konik is seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer III – Embedded Systems in Saint Paul, MN, for direct hire. The role focuses on designing and optimizing embedded firmware for microprocessor platforms, with C/C++ development and RTOS expertise.

A Bachelor's in EE/CE is required, along with 4+ years of experience. Candidates should be proficient in Python, Git, Linux, and FPGA environments, and willing to travel up to 5%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years of embedded firmware experience.
• Strong C/C++ development in embedded environments.
• Experience with RTOS fundamentals: multi-threading, interrupts, real-time scheduling.
• Experience with Python, Git, Linux and embedded toolchains.
• Familiarity with FPGA development environments (Xilinx/Altera).
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Willing to travel up to 5% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize embedded firmware for microprocessor-based platforms.
• Develop robust C/C++ firmware for high-speed interfaces and peripherals.
• Configure and optimize RTOS to meet timing requirements.
• Support hardware integration: board bring-up, debugging firmware-hardware interactions.
• Create Python-based test tools to validate hardware performance.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers on circuit design and PCB development.
• Perform code reviews, maintain version control, and document software.
• Provide mentorship and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
