Job summary

Tomorrow.io’s Space & Sensors team develops RF-based sensing systems and software-defined radar for weather satellite constellations. We seek a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to design and deliver high-performance software for embedded and user systems in C++ and Rust, integrating payload and spacecraft subsystems into our NWP platform.

You will collaborate with firmware, hardware, and systems engineers to enable real-time configuration, data acquisition, and mission operations across

Qualifications

• 6+ years of embedded software development in C/C++ and/or Rust.
• Experience with embedded systems, including embedded Linux (Yocto, PetaLinux, Buildroot) and RTOS (FreeRTOS/Zephyr).
• Experience with ARM/FPGA-based SoC platforms (e.g. Xilinx Zynq) for mission-critical applications.
• Experience interfacing software with embedded systems and low-level interfaces (I2C, SPI, CAN, AXI).
• Proven ability to debug across software, firmware and hardware boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Develop mission-critical software applications for embedded and user platforms.
• Design, implement, and test embedded and user applications in C++ and Rust for radar payload platforms.
• Create software interfaces for payload and mission operations.
• Build robust software components connecting ConOps processors and payload subsystems.
• Deliver maintainable embedded software and integrate with spacecraft systems.
• Collaborate with firmware, hardware, and systems engineering teams.
• Write well-structured, testable C++/Rust code for scalable architecture.
