Job summary

Microchip Technology, Inc. in the United States is seeking a Senior Technical Staff Embedded Systems Software Engineer to join our Development team in Santa Rosa or San Jose, CA.

You will design, develop, and optimize software for embedded devices running Linux, focusing on platform building blocks and hardware integration. The ideal candidate has deep experience with Linux kernel internals, U-Boot bootloader customization, and ARM-based board bring-up, plus strong C programming and debugging

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS or Electronics Engineering.
Deep knowledge of Linux kernel internals and peripheral drivers.
Experience with U-Boot customization and kernel porting on embedded platforms.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and optimize scalable software for embedded devices running Linux.
Develop and maintain bootloaders, drivers, and kernel modules for new hardware.
Collaborate with hardware, QA, and global teams to align on strategy and delivery.
Perform board bring-up and troubleshoot complex issues.
