Job summary

Heath Consultants is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer III to join our Product Engineering team in Houston. You will design, develop, test, and support embedded electronic instrumentation for the natural gas utility market.

Work across electronics, embedded firmware, instrumentation, sensing, and systems engineering to take products from concept to prototype, testing, manufacturing, and ongoing improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• 4–7 years of experience in an R&D, manufacturing, or engineering environment.
• Demonstrated expertise in embedded electronics, instrumentation, sensing, or related product development.
• Proficiency with electrical CAD tools such as Altium.
• Experience developing or supporting embedded systems and electronics.
• Strong technical problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to create clear, professional technical documentation.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, product management, and other cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded and real-time systems.
• Work with modern development tools like GitHub, Jira, and Visual Studio.
• Implement power converter and control system simulations using MATLAB/Simulink/PSpice.
• Troubleshoot electrical, firmware, and system-level problems with root-cause analysis.
• Evaluate design tradeoffs involving cost, performance, reliability, manufacturability, and schedule.
• Translate customer and field needs into engineering requirements and solutions.
• Support product development through hardware requirements, R&D design, verification/validation, testing, and manufacturing transfer.
