Job summary

Moog Space and Defense Group is seeking a Senior Embedded Systems Software Engineer in East Aurora, NY to design and evaluate complex software for NASA, military and commercial applications. You will develop application-specific software for inclusion in embedded systems and lead a project team under the Sr.

Engineering Systems Manager. You will work on BSPs, bootloaders, drivers, and flight software; mentor junior engineers and collaborate with external customers to resolve challenging issues.

Qualifications

• Requires a BS in Software Engineering with 10+ years embedded software experience or an MS with 8+ years
• Proficient in C or C++ programming
• Strong technical documentation and public speaking skills

Responsibilities

• Maintain BSPs, bootloaders, and drivers for BRE440 SoC and PowerPC-based cards
• Review source code and design documents
• Create kernel, bootloader, and DKM projects with Wind River Workbench using VxWorks 6.9 and 7.0
• Debug embedded software with minimal UI
• Perform revision control and manage software releases
• Create and contribute to project artifacts like schedules, test plans, and traceability matrices
• Maintain manual board bring up and software build procedures
• Collaborate with customers and team to solve complex issues
• Be SME for flight software and VxWorks-related questions
• Interview and mentor junior engineers
