Job summary

Sonova is seeking a Senior Engineer, Systems - Embedded Electronics to drive system requirements, architectures and verification for advanced cochlear implant and hearing-solution products. You will collaborate with electrical, firmware, software, mechanical and IC teams to deliver high-performance embedded electronics.

The role requires hands-on testing, DSP/FPGA work, and mentoring of junior engineers, with travel under 5% and a strong engineering culture at Sonova.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or related engineering field.
• Minimum five years of engineering experience with a bachelor's degree, or three years with a master's degree.
• Three+ years of experience with analog/digital circuits, FPGA, embedded systems, RF, DSP or ICs.
• Strong embedded-electronics-system design and development knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Define product requirements and technical specifications with cross-functional teams.
• Develop system and subsystem architectures for embedded products.
• Lead system-level trade-off analyses across ICs, electrical, mechanical, power, cost and schedule.
• Perform feasibility studies for new products and features.
• Select components and technologies; prototype and implement solutions.
• Collaborate across electrical, RF, IC, firmware, software and mechanical teams.
• Support product development through testing, verification, manufacturing transfer and sustaining engineering.
• Investigate issues, run experiments and perform root-cause analysis.
• Define architectures for future products with R&D groups.
• Provide technical leadership in hardware-software integration; mentor junior engineers.
