Job summary

Sonova is hiring an Engineer, Research in the United States to develop software and firmware for cochlear implant systems and related hearing technologies. You will work with software developers, DSP engineers, scientists, and clinicians to evaluate emerging technologies and advance hearing healthcare.

You will contribute to firmware/software development, participate in verification activities, and learn medical-device quality and regulatory requirements while collaborating across disciplines in

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Completed engineering internship with experience in embedded software development for consumer electronics.
  • Strong proficiency in C and C#/.NET.
  • Understanding of modern software architecture and software-development principles.
  • Experience contributing to complex, high-quality commercial software products.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools, including code-generation or automation tools.

Responsibilities

  • Support firmware and software development for cochlear implant systems and other implantable hearing solutions.
  • Contribute to software codebases using C and C#/.NET under supervision of senior engineers.
  • Assist with software verification activities, including unit, automated, and system testing.
  • Troubleshoot software and system issues and perform root-cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams using version control and best practices.
  • Prepare and maintain software requirements, design documentation, and test reports.
