Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer in Melbourne, FL to lead architecture, design, and integration of complex embedded software for military and defense applications, using C/C++, FreeRTOS or Embedded Linux, and AMD/Xilinx platforms.

The role is onsite and requires U.S. citizenship with strong technical leadership to mentor junior engineers across systems, hardware, FPGA, verification, and program management teams.

Qualifications

• This role requires 5+ years of professional embedded software development experience.
• Strong Embedded C/C++ development skills and hands-on debugging.
• Experience with FreeRTOS or Embedded Linux and SoC platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, integration, verification, and sustainment of embedded software subsystems.
• Own software architecture decisions and technical execution for assigned products.
• Develop for AMD/Xilinx Zynq MPSoC, MicroBlaze, and similar platforms.
• Design for Bare Metal, FreeRTOS, Embedded Linux environments and implement drivers.
