Job summary

Leonardo DRS, Inc. is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer in Melbourne, FL to lead architecture, design, and integration of complex embedded software for EOIS systems.

You will own subsystems from concept to deployment and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with hardware, FPGA, verification, and program teams. The role requires expert C/C++, strong Python, experience with Bare-Metal, FreeRTOS, and Embedded Linux, and a track record of system-level debugging and hardware/software

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
5+ years embedded software development experience.
Expert-level C/C++ proficiency and strong Python development.

Responsibilities

Lead design, development, integration, and verification of embedded software components.
Own architecture and implementation decisions for products and features.
Develop for Bare-Metal, RTOS, Embedded Linux environments.
