Job summary

Airbus U.S. Space & Defense, Inc is seeking an enthusiastic Software Engineer to develop spacecraft flight software and contribute to embedded systems across the full lifecycle.

Ideal candidates have extensive C/C++ experience, RTOS expertise, and a track record in aerospace hardware/software integration, testing, and modeling. The role supports remote work with preferred locations in Arlington, VA; Denver, CO; Houston, TX; or Merritt Island, FL.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years with Bachelor's or 6 years with Master's in aerospace, software or related field.
• Proven experience with aerospace hardware/software from concept to operations.
• Strong programming in C/C++ and embedded systems knowledge.
• Experience with real-time OS, hardware interfaces, and validation.

Responsibilities

• Develop satellite flight software across full lifecycle from requirements to operations.
• Contribute to mission concept models, in-house simulations, and proposals.
• Lead or support anomaly resolution and software patches.
• Develop in-house tools to analyze flight software performance and conops compatibility.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing and suppliers.
