As a Ford subsidiary, we operate independently to develop automated driving tech at startup speed. Our headquarters are in Pittsburgh, with engineering centers in Dearborn, MI, and Palo Alto, CA.

The Embedded Software Team

We provide Linux, FreeRTOS, SafeRTOS, and Autosar environments, supporting both QM and ASIL applications on embedded targets like Aurix and ARM. Our projects impact all stack levels, requiring cross-team collaboration, with a focus on technical excellence and compliance with ASPICE and ISO26262.

Responsibilities
  • Ownership of embedded software features from concept to delivery.
  • Implement device drivers and hardware bring-up, including HSMs and security hardware.
  • Develop software for Linux user-space and kernel to enable secure key management, cryptography, and device lifecycle management.
  • Deliver cross-platform embedded software components.
  • Collaborate with hardware and other software teams to integrate security features.
  • Establish safety-critical software development practices.
  • Mentor junior engineers and guide technical direction, especially in Product Security functions like HSM firmware, SecureBoot, Key Management, Intrusion Detection, and Crypto Acceleration.
Qualifications
  • Passion for C/C++ embedded development.
  • Experience with Autosar, SafeRTOS/FreeRTOS, Linux security, Bazel, Python, Docker.
  • Knowledge of safety standards (ISO26262, SOTIF, ASPICE).
  • Embedded security experience: HSM stack, TEE (OP-TEE, TrustZone), cryptography, secure boot/communication, key management.
  • Understanding of cryptography fundamentals and security standards (FIPS 140, ISO SAE 21434).
  • Ability to work across all stack layers and communicate effectively.
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field and 4+ years of experience.
