Job summary

Swoon is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer 3 to join the Remote Control System group. You will design and develop embedded software for remote control machines, performing integration and validation across software, hardware and networks.

The role requires 4+ years in embedded engineering, strong C/C++, MATLAB/Simulink, RTOS and CAN/Ethernet expertise, and collaboration across global teams. Onsite in Mossville, IL with long-term contract options.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent.
4+ years embedded C and MATLAB/Simulink experience.
4+ years of embedded system development in RTOS.
4+ years of system integration and IV&V experience.
Proficiency with CAN, Ethernet and embedded control systems.
Experience with CANoe/CANalyzer, Wireshark, Git and modern tools.
Proficiency with AI-assisted engineering tools (GitHub Copilot etc.).
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Define system requirements, architecture, interfaces and traceability.
Design, develop, integrate and validate Remote Control System across software, hardware and networks.
Develop embedded software using Embedded C/C++ and MATLAB/Simulink; perform V&V.
Troubleshoot root causes and support release activities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams; support functional safety and quality.
