Job summary

Tesla is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to work on embedded software for battery systems, including control, OTA, telemetry, and manufacturing tooling. Qualifications

• BS or higher in computer engineering, software engineering, or electrical engineering with embedded systems focus.
• Strong C/C++ coding skills for multi-threaded and multi-process systems.
• Experience with Rust is desirable.
• Solid fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, coding quality, and practicality.
• Test-driven mindset with unit and integration testing requirements.
• Experience in embedded Linux firmware development.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking and low-level device programming; familiarity with gRPC, MQTT, DDS.

Responsibilities

• Carry out applications and middleware on battery systems for system control, OTA updates, telemetry, and manufacturing.
• Emphasize embedded programming and drive development from design to scalable production.
• Create, improve and troubleshoot new and existing software in C/C++ and Rust for embedded Linux and RTOS.
• Prioritize unit testing and integration testing as core parts of development.
• Collaborate with hardware and firmware teams to plan optimal solutions.
