Job summary

Palladyne AI is hiring an Embedded Software Engineer to build Linux-based software for robotic systems using modern C++. You will address real-time, security, and reliability constraints while working with interprocess communication, threads, and system-level APIs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of embedded software experience.
• BS in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, or electrical engineering.
• Strong proficiency in modern C++, including multithreading, smart pointers, containers, UNIX system calls, processes, file systems, and database connectivity.
• Experience with system-level programming and optimizing performance of systems.
• Experience with Git for version control.
• Experience with multithreaded programming, interprocess communication, and UNIX-style processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded software for Linux-based robotic systems.
• Meet performance, security, reliability, and real-time requirements.
• Design and document OO software and create test plans for high-quality, maintainable code.
• Develop multithreaded and interprocess software within defined time constraints.
• Diagnose and optimize system-level performance for embedded robotic platforms.
• Collaborate across engineering disciplines within an agile process.
• Develop software for standalone systems deployed to customer sites.
