Job summary

Jobot is seeking a highly skilled, experienced Embedded Software Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team in California. This permanent role involves designing, developing, and optimizing embedded software for next generation products, with emphasis on C++ and real‑time OS concepts.

You will work on firmware for embedded targets, review code, improve efficiency and scalability, integrate new designs, and collaborate with hardware teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in embedded software engineering.
• Hands-on development and troubleshooting on embedded targets.
• Solid programming experience in C++.
• Experience with Operating Systems, PetaLinux, Recipe, and Bitbake.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, code, test, and debug system software for embedded systems.
• Review code and design, and provide constructive feedback to peers.
• Analyze and enhance efficiency, stability, and scalability of system resources.
• Integrate and validate new product designs.
• Support software QA and optimize I/O performance.
• Provide post-production support when necessary.
• Develop software for embedded systems from requirements to production and commercial deployment.
• Interface with hardware design and development.
• Assess third-party and open-source software.
