Job summary

The University of Oklahoma's Advanced Radar Research Center (ARRC) seeks an experienced technical software engineer to serve as a Senior Engineer, designing and implementing software architecture for radar and equipment monitoring and control. A Bachelor's in engineering and at least 60 months of embedded software experience (C++, Python, Linux) are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
60 months of embedded software experience required.
Equivalency: 48 months of related experience in lieu of degree accepted.

Responsibilities

Architect and implement software frameworks, APIs, and control layers for system functionality.
Develop, maintain, and optimize Linux daemons and services for high‑performance, multi‑threaded apps.
Code, debug, and test system software.
Collaborate with EE, FPGA, and platforms teams to create processing, control, and validation solutions.
Troubleshoot OS issues, networking bottlenecks, and hardware‑software integration challenges.
Provide consulting on system designs, including costing and lead times; may lead a functional team.
Perform other duties as needed.
