Job summary

The University of Oklahoma's Advanced Radar Research Center (ARRC) seeks an experienced technical software engineer to serve as a Senior Engineer, designing and implementing software architecture for radar and equipment monitoring and control. A Bachelor's in engineering and at least 60 months of embedded software experience (C++, Python, Linux) are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
  • 60 months of embedded software experience required.
  • Equivalency: 48 months of related experience in lieu of degree accepted.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement software frameworks, APIs, and control layers for system functionality.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize Linux daemons and services for high‑performance, multi‑threaded apps.
  • Code, debug, and test system software.
  • Collaborate with EE, FPGA, and platforms teams to create processing, control, and validation solutions.
  • Troubleshoot OS issues, networking bottlenecks, and hardware‑software integration challenges.
  • Provide consulting on system designs, including costing and lead times; may lead a functional team.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
