Job summary

The Advanced Radar Research Center at the University of Oklahoma is seeking an experienced technical software engineer for the role of Senior Engineer. You will design and implement software architecture for radar and equipment monitoring and control, with emphasis on performance, reliability, and scalability.

A qualified candidate should have a Bachelor's in an engineering discipline and at least 60 months of software development experience, including C++, Python and familiarity with Linux.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
  • 60 months of embedded software experience.
  • Experience with C++, Python and familiarity with Linux.
  • Equivalency/Substitution: 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement frameworks, APIs, and control layers to enable system functionality.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize Linux daemons and services for system critical high-performance, multi-threaded applications.
  • Code, debug, and test system software.
  • Collaborate closely with EE, FPGA, and platforms teams to create processing, control, and validation solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve low-level OS issues, networking bottlenecks, and hardware-software integration challenges
  • Provide consulting to system-level designs, including costing, lead times, and alternative solutions.
  • May lead a functional team.
  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the functions of the position.
