Job summary
ABB is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer - Power Electronics in New Berlin, WI to design, develop, and implement embedded software and advanced control algorithms for power conversion and motor control systems. You will lead complex analysis, modeling, and testing to improve performance and reliability, collaborating across engineering disciplines and influencing product direction.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's/Master's/Doctorate in CS or related field with embedded systems/industrial applications experience
- 8+ years (or 6+ with Master’s; 4+ with Doctorate) in R&D software development
- Strong C/C++ proficiency for microprocessors and DSPs
- Experience with power electronics, motor control, and power conversion systems
- Knowledge of modern control theory, observers, estimators, and filtering techniques
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement embedded software for power conversion, converters, and motor control
- Lead analysis, modeling, simulation, and testing to improve performance and reliability
- Collaborate across engineering disciplines to define software architecture and troubleshoot issues
- Serve as technical expert on emerging technologies and innovative approaches
