Job summary

Swoon is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer 3 for a 12-month on-site contract in Irving, TX. The role focuses on developing localization algorithms for autonomous systems, combining perception-based, inertial, and GNSS inputs to robustly estimate position.

Candidate must have 5+ years in Robotics with strong Kalman filter and ROS experience, plus Python and C++ production coding skills. On-site work with potential conversion to full-time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Robotics, Electrical or Computer Engineering or Computer Science; 2 years with Masters; no associate degree.
• 5+ years in Robotics/Autonomous solutions with deep technical domain expertise.
• Experience implementing filtering solutions including Error State, Kalman and Extended Kalman.
• Strong Inertial Measurement technology knowledge and state estimation.
• Proficient in Python; production-quality C++ software development.
• Experience with localization including SLAM, graph optimization, and ROS.

• Develop production-quality C++ software with design, documentation, coding, quality, and validation.
• Contribute to requirements generation and architecture for localization.
