Essenti Talent's client seeks a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join the Software Engineering team on a hybrid schedule in Los Angeles. You will work across device drivers, networking, encryption, and security features for radios and advanced research projects.

The role requires Linux kernel driver development, MAC and networking protocol work, and security compliance. A BS in EE/CS, 5+ years of embedded experience, and US citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum BS degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
• 5+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Expertise in C programming and Linux kernel driver development.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen due to government contracts and background check.

Responsibilities

• Implementation of the software portion of MAC and mobile ad-hoc networking routing protocols.
• Develop network management software and web interfaces.
• Implement security protocols and encryption algorithms.
• Develop audio streaming and push-to-talk voice applications.
• Analyze and improve product security to meet FIPS 140-3 and NIAP Common Criteria.
• Create testing software for performance and reliability testing.
• Develop device drivers and BSP for ARM and RISC-V based systems.
• Linux system customization and scripting.
